discovering our city | petrus

petrus-01 petrus-02 petrus-03 petrus-05love this bakery petrus at söder, it’s really close to where we live which is a little dangerous because it’s that good. here you can buy their baked goods to bring home or sit and eat their delicious bread and cakes and get a cup of coffee too. look at this little cozy nook they made with the milkcan and sheepskin where you can sit and enjoy their goodies.

discovering our city | gröna lund

grönalund-10 grönalund-01 grönalund-02 grönalund-03 grönalund-04 grönalund-05 grönalund-07 grönalund-08 grönalund-09what a summer. feels like fall has arrived with it’s cooler air and i’m ready throwing on layers and layers. a lot of summer-trips have happened and way to little time to blog about it, but here comes some pictures from when we went to gröna lund, swedens oldest amusement parks from around 1883. took the boat from söder out there which is quit lovely. tried the eclipse which is the one on picture 4 but wasn’t my cup of tea (tried the one in copenhagens tivoli and didn’t enjoy that one either) well well tried and tried and i’m just more of a roller coaster gal.

a mini tour of my hood. möbelmakeri is such a great little interior design shop and felt like i discovered a little secret because it’s tucked away at ringdansvägen. they have everything from beautiful posters by danish silke bonde, diamond lights by eric therner to colourful washi-tape. super super nice shop and the shop also has a webshop..check it out here. the café ett skafferi at “skvallertorget” really wins you over with the large out door seating area and will say pretty friendly prices. next stop is the vintage store lyckliga gatan selling both funitures, clothes and everything in between. such great service and so many lovely things i wanted to buy. check out those glass fishing floats, those would look so good in the ombre macramés i’m making…will let you know when they are for sale in my etsy store. and what about that south american map. good stuff! almost next door you’ll find another vintage store vintage fabriken and it’s is oh so lovely. here you’ll find a great deal of 50’s style. check out that blue flower coffee cup on the second last picture i’m pretty sure a cup of coffee from that cup will tast amazing. and the row of dresses…so cute. here is a picture of the three lovely ladies owning this vintage heaven and links to their blogs. i’ve attached my google map of midsommarkransen where you can find a few other places. go on and check out midsommarkransen and let me know if you find something great i don’t know about!

trädgården | sneaker swap

saturday we had great weather for a change and the city was buzzing. went to sneaker swap at trädgården and had smørrebrøds lunch. it didn’t beat halvvejen’s smørrebrød i wrote about here. so nice hanging in the sun, eating and hip hop blasting from the speakers. on our way home we stopped attantolunden where another girl was spinning records. she played a little danish hip hop as well with natasja…you can listen here.  totally girl power dj day.

they do love their fika [fee-ka] here in sweden. translated it’s coffee and cake break and who dosen’t love that combination! the other day we went to gildas to enjoy fika. had the carrot cake and blueberry crumble and it was good. really like the idea of serving the whipped creme and custard in old vintage coffee cups. found some old art deco coffee cups at etsy here and what about these pastel cups here you could use for the purpose.

this & that

old school orange volvo parked in our hood. the cinema bio rio opened back in 1943 pure funkis style. sol grillen placed on top of the venue strand. pretty old school tobacco store at reimersholm, they serve a straight up coffee you can drink outside at one of the tables. really cute stereotypical swedish house at långholmen. our local bakery bakes so good pain au chocolat. shop in the city selling snus. tunnelgatan…olof palme was murdered here at the tunnel mouth at sveavägen. did you check out the documentary palm about olof palme…really interesting:

happy easter | glad påsk

an egg for breakfast. candy easter egg at work. easter napkins of-course…thanks mom. easter colored mailboxes in this new country of mine. we’re running on easter colored juice in this house (broccoli, celery, green apples cucumber & ginger). easter feather branches…wonder where they grow. stumbled upon these two places on our walk….looks really good. you can check out köttbaren here and pizza hatt here. we didn’t eat there but will get back with reviews when we do.
