Homemade old fashion apple cake found a recipe here..a little more fancy version of the one I got. Pretty pastels. The snow came. A piece of the banana bread I made here. Had to make a test of the swedish semla compared to the danish fastelavnbolle. Not convinced…have tested the one from Fabrique and a homemade version. Think I’ll stick with the fastelavnbolle. My favorite breakfast at Pom & Flora. Fika break at Drop Coffee. Tip fight at Coffice: Laura vs The Bride….also selling the lovely coffee from Drop Coffee.

These ladies, owner of this magic flower/plant shop Landet Järna has taken the locally produced, seasonal, pesticide-free and fair trade way we shop food and added this principle to their flower shop which is brilliant and how it should be right!. The Landet Järna sells only locally grown, organic, biodynamic and wild plants, self-picked herbal teas, as well as small envelopes with dried plants and seeds. I’m very excited about initiatives like these. I brought home their grandmothers tea and a little envelope with pumpkin seeds I will plant this lazy Saturday.

Location: Hornsbruksgatan 24, Hornstull, Stockholm

Discovering our city | Pane Vino

pane-vino-01 pane-vino-02 pane-vino-03 pane-vino-04 pane-vino-05I really enjoy the breakfast at Pane Vino. It’s simply and just what you need. They make this great müsli with cardamom you get on top of your yogurt. Another good thing is they open at 9 am in the weekends (I am a early bird and hungry when I wake up) In the evening they serve some pretty amazing pizzas, my fave…this week is the porcino pizza (porcini, portobello & forest mushrooms)

discovering our city | rosendals trädgård

rosendal-garden-01 rosedahl-garden-07 rosedahl-garden-02 rosedahl-garden-08 rosedahl-garden-03 rosedahl-garden-04 rosedahl-garden-05 rosedahl-garden-06rosendals trädgård is this open garden where they grow bio veggies and fruit. during summer they have a farmers market (we bought cavolo nero…haven’t been able to find it anywhere). when we were there they made pizzas in their wood oven and they looked fantastic. they have made a cafe and a bakery inside the greenhouses, but we brought own fika and enjoyed that under the apple trees. i want to go there when it’s christmas time (which is soon?!) and drink a glass of glögg and eat swedish pepparkakor.

hamburger-koket-01 hamburger-koket-02 hamburger-koket-04 hamburger-koket-03here we go exploring more of sthlm’s burger places. for now this is one of my favorites. so this is the #2 stop in the burger guide the svenska hamburgerköket. remember 1 stop at vigårda here. had grosshandlaren and it is for now one of the best burgers i have had here. straight up and simple, the meat is from swedish farmer who care and it’s minced at the restaurant, fries are served with cold béarnaise…so good! and prices are good. they also serve a serious milkshake with cherry on top and all.

discovering our city | gröna lund

grönalund-10 grönalund-01 grönalund-02 grönalund-03 grönalund-04 grönalund-05 grönalund-07 grönalund-08 grönalund-09what a summer. feels like fall has arrived with it’s cooler air and i’m ready throwing on layers and layers. a lot of summer-trips have happened and way to little time to blog about it, but here comes some pictures from when we went to gröna lund, swedens oldest amusement parks from around 1883. took the boat from söder out there which is quit lovely. tried the eclipse which is the one on picture 4 but wasn’t my cup of tea (tried the one in copenhagens tivoli and didn’t enjoy that one either) well well tried and tried and i’m just more of a roller coaster gal.
