When escaping from NYC our get-a-way was this lovely bed & breakfast The Clark House in Palenville 2 hours drive from NYC. The little shop Circle W Market I wrote about here was next door…very convenient. Stayed here a couple of times and had such a fantastic stay. Michael and Christine are the hosts and they are the best. Michael made this amazing breakfast for us…cream cheese omelet I have copied many times after….sooooo gooood! Had a picnic in their huge garden I took a picture of here. Love this place!

Homemade old fashion apple cake found a recipe here..a little more fancy version of the one I got. Pretty pastels. The snow came. A piece of the banana bread I made here. Had to make a test of the swedish semla compared to the danish fastelavnbolle. Not convinced…have tested the one from Fabrique and a homemade version. Think I’ll stick with the fastelavnbolle. My favorite breakfast at Pom & Flora. Fika break at Drop Coffee. Tip fight at Coffice: Laura vs The Bride….also selling the lovely coffee from Drop Coffee.

New year in Copenhagen

Was so lucky we could borrow our friends apartment with fire stove…not so common in Copenhagen, you see it more here in Stockholm. Had a great breakfast at Dyrehaven cheap (compared to Sthlm prices) and filling. The avocado open faced is so good. Random prictures from Kødbyen. Testing ginger sodas from Kihoskh. Ebeltoft Gårdbryggeri was definitely the winner.

Recipe | Sesame Banana Bread

IMG_5370 IMG_5367 IMG_5368 IMG_5371 IMG_5374 IMG_5380 IMG_5381bananabread-01 IMG_5407Had some pretty ripe bananas that I decided to make good use of. As well I had just been told my iron levels where low so it was a perfect fit with this overload of sesame seeds in this cake as sesame is a great source of iron. Found the recipe at 101 cookbooks. Check recipe here. Adapted it a little using  1/2 cup / 60 g of agave instead of 3/4  cup / 125 g sugar.

Made a tahin glaze (more sesame for me)

For the glaze:

2 1/2 tbs tahin

1/2 cup / 2 oz / 55g confectioners’ sugar

4-6 teaspoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

Mirror hallway. Art under the bridge. My round hotel apartment when guest teaching at denmarks design school Kolding. Early morning view of the lake and Koldinghus. Skagen and Frederikshavn from above. Knit from my etsy shop done and on it’s way to Oslo. Early bird flight home again. Carrot juice. Morning yoga. Lovely teas.

Discovering our city | Pane Vino

pane-vino-01 pane-vino-02 pane-vino-03 pane-vino-04 pane-vino-05I really enjoy the breakfast at Pane Vino. It’s simply and just what you need. They make this great müsli with cardamom you get on top of your yogurt. Another good thing is they open at 9 am in the weekends (I am a early bird and hungry when I wake up) In the evening they serve some pretty amazing pizzas, my fave…this week is the porcino pizza (porcini, portobello & forest mushrooms)
