We spend late summer in Tisvildeleje in north of Zealand. It was filled with wild blueberries, skinny dipping, fireplace and a glass of champagne every day. Needless to say we had a blast. Since we came late in the season we almost had this little summer town for ourselves. Lots and lots of long walks, a lunch at Helenekilde, coffees in town at Den Røde Tomat who also happened to make a really good pizza and a cinema where you could bring your cup of coffee into the cinema hall and they would run to the bakery after fresh croissants if you fancied that…my oh my, my favorite place to be this summer. Great to stay in Denmark where the summer is beyond. Best choice ever!

This shop is next door to my favorite coffee shop Drop Coffee I wrote about here. Adisgladis  is this great shop and web-shop where you can find organic, upcycling off grid very usefull things and clothes. Bought my Swedish Kavat winter boots here, and lots of presents. In love with the Stanley thermos…how good looking are they. Have also invested in some of the great Klean Kanteen bottles.  Gonna last a life time and I love that idea instead of use & toss.

Happy baristas makes a good cup of joe and that’s exactly what’s going on here. We got to place a stack of Bitchslap mags here as well….thanks Drop Coffee and thanks Benjamin (hand model) and congrats on winning the new Swedish Brewers Cup. Was so lucky to get beans from Drop Coffee from Beanerd Coffee….remember this insta here.

When escaping from NYC our get-a-way was this lovely bed & breakfast The Clark House in Palenville 2 hours drive from NYC. The little shop Circle W Market I wrote about here was next door…very convenient. Stayed here a couple of times and had such a fantastic stay. Michael and Christine are the hosts and they are the best. Michael made this amazing breakfast for us…cream cheese omelet I have copied many times after….sooooo gooood! Had a picnic in their huge garden I took a picture of here. Love this place!

A cuppa tea

Brewing a cup of field horsetail and fennel tea from Landet Järna. Fields horsetail is an old folk remedy for kidney and bladder troubles, arthritis, bleeding ulcers, and tuberculosis. The Chinese use it to cool fevers and as a remedy for eye inflammations. This is some good stuff and you can harvest it yourself. Harvesting: Pick it in a clean area. Best time to harvest is midsummer when plants are large but still somewhat succulent.

Flashback Friday | Hollywood Farmers Market

When living in LA we went to Hollywood Farmers Market on the corner of Ivar and Hollywood Blvd every weekend to buy the weeks veggies and fruit. Great quality and good prices and they had this little coffee wagon where we would get our morning coffee….good times! This is the best farmers market I know of in LA. Haven’t been to all but seen a lot and this is my favorite.
